Why did you sign up for this workshop?

  1. I enjoy listening to podcasts, especially those I download on NPR. My favorites are: Skeptoid, This American Life, and Car Talk. Hearing voices is also great, as well as Science Friday. Since discovering podcasts, I've been curious as to how they are created. Now, I get to find out! Lucky me.

  2. I want to learn something new that will enhance learning in my classroom. Or at least know how to do something my students can do effortlessly so I don't look so clueless.

  3. My wife loves to frequent the "mommy blogs," but I'm not much of a blogger yet. I figure it might be a great tool to use in Spanish class.

  5. I've never done podcasting or blogging so I thought I'd take the workshop to learn how!

  6. I am especially interested in finding out about the district's ability to host our podcasts and blogs on a stable, fast server. I was hoping to enjoy special privileges because I know you and attended your workshop! Any chances?

  7. I have been exploring different ways of utilizing the internet and other resources to get students to explore, interact, and produce in our target language, Spanish. Recently, I've started playing with Voicethread. I think there is a lot of value in students being able to produce and effectively "publish" their work. They tend to take pride in the work they do that they know can be "seen" by others and the technology is relevant to their world.

  8. Heard great interview with Tim O'Reilly on NPR's Science Friday, about the implications of new communication tools for cultural evolution. Interesting...

  9. I want to learn what podcasts and blogs are and how to create and download them. I would also like to explore how I can use these resources within my curriculum.

  10. I want to use podcasts with my students for an after school news club in the immediate future. In the classroom I would like to explore podcasts as a product for student writing, which I hope will give students a way to see the need to edit after they hear how it sounds. Also, I would like to use it to share activities that students can go back to and listen to on-line at home.
